High waisted shorts have always enticed me. What I mean by that is that, I always love how they look on other people, but I don’t think I ever feel confident enough to pull them off so I always tended to veer away from them. However, as you can see, and to my delightful surprise, that was not the case. They actually look fantastic on and are super slimming. I have an hour glass figure, which mean that my bust and hips are roughly the same measurement around, and my waist is the smallest point on my figure. So the reason these high waisted shorts look flattering on me is because they are accentuating the smallest part of my figure, giving me the illusion that my entire body is smaller. It’s amazing what happens when we learn to dress our bodies. And the heels just elongate the leg making everything look even more streamlined and slim. If you are an hour glass figure here are some tips:
Your hips and bust are proportional in size.
Your waist is the smallest part on your figure.
Wear clothing that accentuates your waist. Such as, high waisted jeans, pants with belts, wrap dresses, flat front pants. Don’t wear anything that gathers or has pleats or ruffles, especially around your waist. You want to minimize that area. You want to wear fabrics that lay on your figure so your shape is shown.. Adding volume via fabric, makes you look larger that you actually are. Wear body hugging clothing. Or fabrics that lay or drape on you that allows your shape to be seen. And heels are always good for slimming and elongation purposes. And if you stick with some of those pointers while your shopping, I promise you’ll start to love your wardrobe a lot more.
