I love spending the holidays in Chicago. The snow and holiday decor make everything feel so festive. I even find joy being in the cold. During my stay this winter, we were staying at the Four Seasons Chicago, on Michigan Avenue. This particular property happens to have some very unexpected, very happy artwork. Every time I visit I am pleasantly surprised with all the art I encounter. It is so refreshing and uplifting. The hotel itself is actually a very “traditional” style hotel. It has deep, rich, wood work; intense black and emerald colored marble cascading throughout the hotel. All the doors are very heavy and all of the hardware is an old world gold color. You feel like you’re in a meticulously maintained piece of history. Very elegant. With this strong and elegant hotel as the backdrop, the pop abstract art takes center stage. The contrast between the hotel and the artwork creates a contemporary modern art haven.
Some of the artwork I experienced during my stay is below. If you’re interested in finding out more about the pieces in the hotel please visit the link below for an informational video…….”Art” We Fancy?
